To start off, try to open and close the hair extension clips before you apply it on your hair. Once you have managed to master this you can begin with the D-I-Y application of the extension clips.
Use a tail comb or the index finger to make a clean partition across your scalp; not more than 1 inch across the nape of the neck. Once you have partitioned it, you need to secure the above portion using a hair tie or a clutch clip.
Next ensure that all the clips on the hair weft are kept in their open positions. Secure the middle clip first then slide the comb of the hair extension clips onto your real hair and then secure it shut. Check that the hair extension attachment has been properly attached. And then repeat this with the other clips to the right and the left hand side of the weft.
You need to ensure that the weft is placed along the scalp and feels secure. This completes the application of the first hair extension clip. You need to repeat the process to attach more hair extension clips in the similar manner.
Once you finish attaching all the hair extension clips, use a mirror to ensure that none of the wefts are showing. Now you are ready to try out any hairstyle or to even use a hair curling iron or a hair straightener for styling the hair extensions.
