Learn How To Apply Clip In Hair Extensions

Saturday, 20. August 2011 11:23

Do you want to feel the luxury of long, silky hair yet would prefer not to pay for permanent hair extensions? Most women prefer to apply clip in hair extensions because they don’t have to pay for expensive salon sessions just to have beautiful long hair. The best part is they can apply clip in hair extensions even in the privacy and comfort of their homes. All it takes is a little bit of practice, and you can also create the same professional look that most expensive hair salons offer.

To apply clip in hair extensions, you need to prepare the things you will need, read the instructions on the package carefully. With some patience and a little imagination, you can easily create the style you want to achieve.

An important step that you should take before you apply clip in hair extensions is to prepare all the things you will need. Choose a working area with enough space that can accommodate the things you need – the hair extension piece, large clips for your hair, a thin comb to part your hair in sections and a bigger comb for preparing the hair piece. You may also need a curling iron or a hair dryer for styling your hair later on. Next, you need to prepare the hair extension. Clean the hair piece before you apply the clip in hair extension and comb through tangles and knots. Make sure that the clips work by opening and closing each clip.

The Busy Mom's Guide to Hair Styling

Friday, 19. August 2011 11:27

Motherhood is one of the toughest jobs in the world. With the constant hustle and bustle from baby duty to daily chores, a mom is lucky enough if she gets to sit down for a full minute on hectic days, much less find the time to shower, blow-dry and style her hair. Of course, dedicated as you are to your family, you also want to look your best (or at least not be too obvious that you skipped the shower.) Those extra-busy days when you barely have time for yourself are inevitable, but here’s a few simple things to help you cope.

Moms, here’s some unexpected news: hairstylists say that dirty hair is the easiest to style! How do you turn drab to fab? Here are some tips:

Brush Off

Hands off the brush if you’re planning to skip the shower today. When you brush unwashed hair, you actually distribute the oil from the scalp to the rest of your hair. This results in a greasy, stringy look.

Powder Up

When it comes to making dirty hair look polished, dry shampoo is your best friend. For the uninitiated, dry shampoo is a powdered substance used to absorb excess oils from hair follicles without the need to be rinsed off. Aside from absorbing some of the oil, dry shampoo leaves a fresh scent and bulks up your hair so it can be styled. To use spray-on versions, hold it a foot from your head and spray on oily areas. To use those in shaker dispensers, sprinkle the powder in your hands and work into your scalp.

How To Wear Clip In Hair Extensions Guide

Thursday, 18. August 2011 11:24

Human clip in hair extensions are a quick and easy way to transform your look, taking you from short hair to luscious long locks in just a few minutes. Although there are several types of hair extensions available, clip in hair extensions are the best for those who want an instant new look with the freedom to remove the extensions at the end of the night.

As well as adding length, clip ins can also be used by those with longer hair to add volume, making it easier to recreate the bigger styles currently trending. Bouffant dos in the style of Cheryl Cole and Sarah Jessica Parker are traditionally popular during the upcoming autumn and winter seasons so now is a great time to get practising with !

These types of extensions are temporary so can be inserted at home with no special tools or help required. Be sure that you buy human hair extensions rather than synthetic as human hair can be styled and heat treated, where synthetic hair can’t. This gives you the freedom to style your hair, straighten it or curl to complete your style.

Getting Started…

To get started, take the hair out of the packet and brush it gently with a soft brush. The number of packets you need will depend on the length and thickness of your own hair plus the look you are trying to achieve. A standard full head set will be sufficient for most.

3 Clever Ways to Disguise Oily Hair

Wednesday, 17. August 2011 11:31

Greasy, limp and lifeless—if this is the hair you wake up to every morning, you probably have oily hair. All hair types present their own set of challenges, and oily hair, though it requires daily cleansing, is one of the more manageable types because it’s not dry.

If your hair is oily, there are several ways you can go. You can put it up in a bun, or try wearing super stylish as a distraction. That’s a good place to start, but here are some clever ways that you can get away with limp locks.

First, as with any battle, it is vital that you know what you’re dealing with so you can find the most effective ways to confront it. What causes oily hair? Oily hair results from the scalp’s sebaceous glands secreting excessive amounts of sebum. Sebum is the natural oil that protects the hair and scalp from external damage and prevents from drying. This can come from your family’s genes, from the hormonal changes in your body, from everyday stress, or from frequent use of strong shampoos and styling products.

Getting Over Yourself- An Itsy Bitsy Guide For Teenagers

Tuesday, 16. August 2011 12:28

Teenagers. Where do I even start? While some people apparently did not get the memo that it’s just a phase and supposedly ends after high school, most of us have gone through the joys, tears, sebaceous glands and cheesy hair accessories of our teenage years and moved on with our lives. And I don’t know about you, but it has got to be one of the most confusing times of my life.

It’s that proverbial fork on the road where you’re not a kid anymore, but you’re not an adult yet either. On the inside, you go through a whole range of emotions that are completely alien to you. On the outside, as your hormones go on hyperdrive, acne decides to make your body its personal oyster and man oh man, do you stink. It’s understandable that most teenagers obsess about their image and how their peers perceive them!

Looking back now and knowing what I know, I would have told my teenage self “Girl, like seriously, CHILL.” Being a teenager doesn’t have to be a pain in the neck. It can be an exciting new adventure in the process of “finding” yourself. You may want to talk to someone else about dealing with the “inside” stuff, but I will try to help you deal with the “outside” stuff: body image.

LET’S GET PHYSICAL
Studies have shown that girls tend to struggle with body image far more than boys. For a lot of teenagers, how they feel about their physical appearance can be closely linked to their self-esteem. Self-esteem is how much you value yourself and it is important because it affects and influences how you act.

The first thing to do is to realize that in the end, your body is your own—no matter what shape, size, or color. If there are things about yourself that you can realistically change, make goals for yourself to make the change. For example, if you want a fitter body, make a plan to exercise daily and eat healthy. But ultimately, you will have to learn to be happy with yourself.

Since I do not intend to hog the interwebs with self-help 101, I’ll zero in on one of the things that cause major self-hate drama: hair.

HAIR, THERE, EVERYWHERE!
Any teenage girl in her right mind knows that her hair is her crowning glory. And as such, it must be treated with utmost care. You have about 100,000 hairs on your head, so you’ve got your work pretty much cut out for you. Here are some tips to keep your hair healthy, shiny and the total envy of every other teenage girl (or boy).

Beauty Pageant Preparations: Hair Accessories for your Little Girl

Saturday, 13. August 2011 14:28

More and more parents are entering their girls into beauty pageants because it allows their princess to strut across the stage and show her beautiful smile in an adorable dress and a little jewelled tiara. Recent movies have added to this trend as popular films such as Little Miss Sunshine showcasing children’s beauty pageants.

can add to your child’s adorable look by adding a bit of flare to their outfit. What you have to ensure is that you choose the right hair accessory to complete her look. Keep in mind that these beauty pageants are meant to be fun, so don’t go overboard with stressing for the occasion, just do a little research and put together the cutest little costume that you can think of.

To help you put the outfit together we’ve come up with some tips on hair accessories including baby headbands and hair fascinators below:

Tips on Wearing Hair Accessories

You can’t go wrong with that are lined with sequins and diamonds as one of the choice hair accessories for your little girl as she walks on the stage. You can also try using black velvet headbands to give her the classic look of Audrey Hepburn and Judy Garland. If you prefer sophistication, you can always have crystals in any of your hair accessories such as a diamond-encrusted hair clip.

As you prepare your daughter for the talent portion, make sure that her hair complements her pageant dress and routine. For example, a hair fascinator decorated with exotic feathers is great for a classic dance number like a musical while a simple hair clip embellished with satin ribbons looks good in a solo singing scene.

When choosing the right hair accessories, consider the colour and length of your daughter’s hair. Learn to mix and match. Don’t restrict the natural flow of the hair by putting the hair in a ponytail, use a barrette to hold her hair in place instead. Also, always remember to place the hair fascinator or hair clip properly so that her hair doesn’t cover the face.

Tiaras in Beauty Pageants

Winning the beauty pageant of course means wearing the Winners Tiara. Just like a wedding tiara, the beauty pageant tiara is also encrusted with jewels, diamonds, and other precious stones (of course most of these are replicas when it comes to our little one’s pageant).

Most Important of All

Always remember it’s not about the right baby headbands, hair clip, hair fascinator or any other of the hair accessories. It’s about your daughter enjoying the process and most of all enjoying the event when it comes to beauty pageants. Like everything in her life it should be educational and fun. So forget the stress and the competition, just put together an adorable outfit and let your daughter smile and laugh her way to the podium. Also all the tips and tricks we have provided in this article don’t just have to be for beauty pageants, they can also be used just for the family Sunday trip to Grandma’s house as a little dress up is always a fun time for mother and daughter.

How To Make An Easy French Pleat In Just Minutes

Friday, 12. August 2011 15:23

Whether for work or for a formal event, the French Pleat or French Twist is a classic style that suits any woman with long hair beautifully. Normally requiring an abundance of hair grips, hair spray and backcombing, the French pleat can also be made simply and quickly just using a single barrette or hair clip.

In this article we show you how to make an easy French pleat. Once you get the hang of the technique, you will be able to put your hair up beautifully in less than three minutes.

Step 1: Hold your hair in a ponytail with one hand.
Where you start your ponytail determines how low the line of your French pleat begins along the back of your head. For hair that is past shoulder length, start your ponytail at the very bottom of your hair line along your neck. For shoulder length hair, start your ponytail at the centre of your head.

Step 2: Start twisting your hair.
Keep your ponytail down for one or two twists. Twist tightly to keep the edge of your pleat looking neat.

Step 3: Fold up from the twisted section and form the basic French pleat shape.
Still holding the ends of your hair, pull your ponytail straight up, quite taut, and continue to twist your hair tightly. This should pull your hair from the side neatly up and over your twisted ponytail. If it doesn’t, pinch some hair from the bottom and gently ease this up to create a smooth looking roll. Keep twisting your hair tightly all the way to the ends.

Step 4: Choose whether you prefer the ends of your hair tucked in or left out.
Once your hair has been rolled up and you have a pleated edge forming to the edge of your crown, if you have some ends left you can either leave these out for a cascading or fantail effect, or tuck them under for a clean traditional look.

To fold your ends into your pleat, tuck them into your pleated edge, hiding them underneath the roll and against your head.

Step 5: Choose your favourite hair clip to hold your French pleat.
Larger barrettes with a high arched clasp, as well as concorde style beak hair clips or Ficcare clips, are very good for giving your French pleat a strong, reliable hold. Just slide them across your pleat horizonally and close them across your hair.

If you are familiar with the Stone Bridge “back scoop” technique, then there are a variety of other hair accessories that will elegantly hold your hair in place as well.

French pleat combs give an especially good hold and are particularly recommended if your hair is fine or slippery in texture.

French U pins are very popular, as they almost disappear into your hair, but can provide an excellent strong hold.

Hair sticks and forks also look wonderful in a French pleat, creating a clean and simple finish to your hair.

Melissa Hill, founder of Stone Bridge Hair Accessories in England, designs classic French Tortoiseshell hair accessories using traditional methods. For more advice on how to make a French pleat visit Stone Bridge at Stone-Bridge.co.uk

What We Look into the Volumizing Shampoo
Every woman wants thick, luscious locks that shine with health. Unfortunately, many of us have thin fine hair that falls flat against our face, making it difficult to style it. But there is help on the way in the form of volumizing shampoo. A volumizing shampoo, also called as a thickening shampoo, is specially formulated for thin and limp hair. It gives hair volume and bounce and gives you noticeably fuller and thicker locks. Poor nutrition, genetics and stress are different factors conducing to hair thinning. Thin, limp hair can be quite distressing for a person. To solve this problem, cosmetic manufacturers have come up with volumizing shampoos. Volumizing shampoos are shampoos that lift fine hair up and fill them out. They make the hair look and feel thicker, fuller and more abundant. Every shampoo manufacturer claims that his company makes and sells the best volumizing shampoo. Several shampoos are touted for their hair volumizing abilities, only to disappoint us when we try them. By reading some volumizing shampoo reviews we can get a fair idea on how effective and true these shampoos are to the claims of their manufacturers.

Credentials of Volumizing Shampoo
Human hair is made of keratin, a strong fibrous scleroprotein found in the outer layers of hair, skin, nails, hooves and teeth. Naturally occurring thin hair, or fine hair, typically has less amino acids than thick hair naturally does. When a person regularly uses hair products, the amino acids usually are stripped from the hair, leaving it lifeless, flat and dull. The thin and damaged hairs always create styling problems. So hairs are always in a dire need of a good volumizing shampoo that not only enhance the body but also make them look shiny and alive. The Volumizing Shampoo is being formulated in light of the product special ingredients and pleasant customer experience.
