Propecia, a Major Advancment for male pattern baldness

In 1997, a major breakthrough hit the market running from Merck, the pharmaceutical giant Arguably, it was the largest advancement for a cosmetic drug in the history of pharmaceuticals The drug was called Propecia or finasteride, and Propecia literally changed the lives of millions of men suffering from alopecia. A lot of men, however, are unaware of the entire Propecia story. They are unaware of how Propecia was created from a prior drug called Proscar. Furthermore, a lot of men are unaware of Proscar (finasteride 5 mg) as a substitute name brand medication for Propecia (finasteride 1 mg) and that they can actually buy quality brand name finasteride or Proscar for nearly the same cost as many sites sell poorly made generic Propecia of unknown origin.

How Proscar Became Propecia

In 1992, the FDA approved Proscar, Merck & Company’s promising new medication to treat benign enlarged prostate, an often-painful condition plaguing millions of American men over 50 years old. Proscar treatment defines Benign prostate enlargement or BPH as a condition where the prostate becomes enlarged. The Proscar treated condition is caused primarily by a build up of a hormone in men called Dihydrotestosterone or DHT. DHT begins to build up in men as they age . The drug Proscar or finasteride 5 mg was engineered to inhibit the formation of DHT in the system. By successfully blocking the formation of DHT, Proscar or finasteride 5 mg allowed for the gradual shrinking of the prostate in patients. For millions of men suffering from BPH, Proscar was already a miracle in itself. However, soon Propecia, an even greater discovery was in storeto supersede Proscar .

While the test subjects continued using Proscar, an unexpected yet postive side effect emerged. Proscar patients  prior hair loss was diminishing and a high percentage of Proscar users were even beginning to grow significant new hair on the mid scalp area. . It was quickly confirmed that the action of Proscar or finasteride blocking the formation of DHT also diminished hair loss and Proscar grew new hair in men. In short, DHT is also responsible for male pattern hair loss as it accumulates in the scalp and atrophes hair follicles, Proscar halted this process.

Merck and Co., the maker of Proscar, immediately began testing and studies of the drug finasteride or Proscar for the treatment of Hair loss. In 1997, the FDA approved Propecia. Propecia became the first ever proven drug to halt hair loss and grow new hair in men. In Propecia’s synthesis, the only modification that was made from the percursor drug Proscar was that Propecia is a 1 mg dose of finasteride, and Proscar is a 5 mg dose. The studies revealed that Propecia, or 1 mg of finasteride was the proper dosage to treat hair loss as opposed to 5 mg used in Proscar.

Propecia, an Instant Hit

Propecia became an instant blockbuster and has sold hundreds of millions of units worldwide. Now many companies, small and large, quality and sub-standard produce and market generic Propecia. Many Propecia and Proscar users have experienced two problems however when buying Propecia or Proscar on the Internet. First, brand name Propecia is very expensive , often more than $75 for a month supply . Second, generic Propecia is sold by countless sources around the Internet, yet many men have learned the hard way that many of these Propecia generics are of very poor quality and/or origin. Still many more Propecia generics have found to be counterfeit and have no active ingredients at all.

Proscar or Generic Propecia?

Given that Proscar is the precise same drug as Propecia only in a greater dosage (Proscar is 5 mg and Propecia is 1 mg) , smart consumers have learned that rather than Propecia , they can buy proscar tablets and cut Proscar into 4ths or 5ths. Dividing the Proscar gives them an approximate 1 mg piece to take each day . By cutting Proscar and taking a piece daily , they can save as much as 65% over the price of Propecia with Proscar. Of even greater benefit, given the problems outlined above with many sub-standard Propecia generics , Proscar is genuine, branded finasteride manufactured by the same laboratory as Propecia . Quality conscience Propecia consumers have learned that they can buy Proscar, cut the tablets and with Proscar end up paying about the same as they would for generic Propecia of unknown quality being offered on many sites . Of course, if a Propecia patient prefers to not be bothered with cutting the Proscar tablets, he may also buy Propecia, the genuine Merck brand from a reliable Internet pharmacy.

In this video, I review Jessica Simpson’s synthetic and human hair extensions. I have to say…I love them!!!! They are easy to put on (it takes me under 5 minutes) and even easier to take off. I like both types, but I like the human hair ones a bit more, only because I can use heating tools (more variety of hairstyles).
The synthetic ones are great too. I really love them both!!

Probably bit of a stupid question but , im thinking of purchasing body wave extensions ( human hair ) from ebay , they are wefts and i will be sticking them in, my questions is when washed and dried do they keep there original wave ? has any one tried them ?

Yes they will, human hair is the best quality extensions you can get. I only ever use quality human hair extensions on my clients.

The hair is permanently curly. Unless it’s stretched & blow dried straight first then Flat ironed it will always remain curly/wavy. Never Brush them when they’re dry ever!

Do you know how to care for your wefts when it comes to washing and drying them??? human hair extensions cost more than synthetic ones which melt and burn when heat styling tools are taken to them.

Treat your curly wefts as though its real hair you’re looking after. Never brush them ever! Instead if you need to get rid of knots, use a detangular or wash them with a little shampoo in warm water. NEVER RUB the hair, stroke it so it keeps all the curls tight together. Then condition them. Holding the extension at the weave end so as not to tear the hair from its binding – carefully and gently use a wide toothed comb to comb out the knots, starting from the ends and working your way towards the roots slowly. Once knot free, then rinse well. Remember don’t rub the hair! Stroke away the excess water, then hang to drip dry in a well ventilated area free of wind so there is no frizz.

It’s easy once you’ve done it once, you’ll be a professional carer of your weaves and you’ll be glad because you’re caring for your investment the right & ONLY way. Have fun!

I’m a lace wig wearer looking to switch to a lace frontal with sew in for various reasons… I’m just very confused as to how to measure my head for the frontal piece. I see lots of stock units on the web that have an average measurement of 13 x 4. I’ve measured my head across the front and it is 11.5 inches, not 13. I’m also not sure how far back the lace frontal should go. I’m worried that if I order an in stock Lace Frontal that it will be too large. I’m also afraid that if I order a custom unit that it may not fit if I’m doing the measurements wrong. What should I do? How do I measure my head properly for a lace frontal?
