The Difference Between French Lace And Swiss Lace Wigs

Thursday, 23. December 2010 14:22

synthetic hair extentions 3 The Difference Between French Lace And Swiss Lace WigsHuman Hair Extensions – As for everything in life there are many choices you can make to look good. Clothes, shoes, jewellery, watches, cosmetics, hairstyles and more. All these put together in a good combination will give you excellent results.

When you decide on wearing a wig, you have choices here as well. What will be the material of your hair, will it be a front or full lace wig, what about the hair density and colour etc.

All wigs require certain components that you need to get together in order to wear it. These three main components are the base, hair and accessories.

You will need to determine what type of base will suit your lifestyle and your skin as well. Is an outdoors person, do you have the type of skin that perspires often, what are the weather conditions where you live- all of these will have to be taken into account when ordering your wig. Keep in mind also how much time you can afford to spend on maintaining your wig.

One of the first and most important points to remember is that a wig has to fit correctly on your head. Go for a custom made wig as this is best option for you. In order to get a great fit you need to take the correct measurements of your head.

The second step is to decide on a base. This is the material on which the hair is set. Choose your base depending on your lifestyle. A lace base is much in demand and is the best option currently available.

When you place a lace base on your scalp it merges very well with the skin and no one can have a clue that it exists on you.

There are three types of bases – Super fine Swiss Lace, Swiss Lace and French Lace

The Super fine Swiss lace is the thinnest in quality. It is also the most delicate base available. Perfect for use in the front, as it is invisible and does not show.

Swiss lace is slightly thicker as compared to the Super Fine quality. This does not mean that it is visible. In fact this lace is also a good lace for the front, as you cannot see it. It is also more durable in strength. A lot many people prefer to use French lace as a base. This is extremely durable and cannot be seen from the front as well. You can get this base in different colours, perfectly matched with the exact colour of your scalp and face. The available colours include peach, orange, tab, white, brown and black.

You can choose any of the three suiting your convenience and lifestyle. Once you do, then you can decide on the next component that is the hair.

As the saying goes’ Build on a solid foundation and you build well!’

What’s the best front lace wig adhesive?

Saturday, 18. December 2010 23:28

I just bought my first lace front wig and I’m not sure what adhesive to buy. Long lasting ability isn’t really a big deal since it’s my first lace front and I’m just trying it out. I don’t want something that is going to rip out my hair. I do have hair at my hair line and I have long hair, it’s just thin. I was going to use a wig cap, alcohol, skin protector and an adhesive. I don’t think I’m going to use tape strips since I don’t need it to last for more than a few days at first. I was thinking about Ms Lola’s adhesive cream, is that any good? Any help would be appreciated, I’m new when it comes to lace fronts, thanks.

you can go to ebay,
Using Tape Or Glue:This will give it enough time to get tacky (STICKY) enough to hold a strong bond.

Can you sew on hair extension clips to glue in hair extensions?

Saturday, 18. December 2010 23:28

I am thinking about getting knew hair extensions, but the clip ins are a lot pricier than the glue ins. I was wondering if i could by glue in ones and sew clips on to them?
forgive the spelling :3

I certainly don’t see why not.
I have thought about it before,
but i was rather faithful to my glue-ins.
I had to stop though, the glue stunted the growth of my hair.
I noticed it wasn’t just mine either,
my two best friends used them two & we all started using them around the same time.
None of us grow an inch of hair where our tracks sat for about two years.

How to get demi-permanent color off human hair extensions?

Saturday, 18. December 2010 23:28

I bought human hair extensions (not sure if they are actually ‘human’, they were $100) and dyed them a bit darker color with demi-permanent hair dye. Now i want to dye my own hair a bit lighter and don’t want to ruin the extensions by bleaching, so how can I speed up the process of the dye washing off? They say not to wash them in warm water for the color to last longer, so maybe if i put them in hot water, the dye would come off?

Hi. Wash them with washing up liquid this should strip the colour a little. or you just buy a whole new set of extensions? I buy mine from www.hairextensions.co.uk icon smile How to get demi permanent color off human hair extensions? xx

How to Apply Front Lace Wig

Saturday, 18. December 2010 14:15

lacefront How to Apply Front Lace WigYou have got yourself a great front lace wig and you’re just dying to try it on. The only problem is you are not quite sure how to go about it. Read on to find out.

The best thing about applying a front lace wig is that you can do it yourself. It is also quite easy once you understand the technique and practice it a couple of times.

One of the major issues that many people face is that a front lace wig frays at the forehead area. To avoid it here are a few tips to follow when attaching a front lace wig?

You can choose between two types of attachments: double sided tapes and liquid adhesives. This is attached to your scalp or balding area. Ensure that the product you use is of a high quality and suitable for human use. There are special attachments available in the market specially designed for the purpose.

Using adhesive: The front lace is put back at least to a width of one inch. The adhesive is then applied which disappears into the lace front. The wig is then placed over this. The proper use of this method creates an illusion of hair growing out of the scalp.

Using Tape: Cut the tape into strips of 3 inches in length and approximately 3.8 inches in width. Take one strip and lay it on to the polyurethane tape patch area where the lace front connects to it. Now you can lay the strip on the front hairline to the edge of the lace. Press and hold it down. Proceed with laying the strips until you have taped the entire front from edge to edge. Remember to apply pressure on the strips as you go along. You may need to cut and overlap the strips as and when necessary to fit the shape of the head but this is ok. End by attaching the last strip to the polyurethane area next to the lace front on the other side. Ensure that there are no gaps in the tape strip line.

This adhesive or tape will help firmly hold the wig in place The main reason for putting the adhesive or tape on is to ensure that the wig does not look unnatural. It also helps in styling as well.

When your wig is attached firmly, you can be rest assured that you will look great and no one will know you have a wig on.
